Our seamless gutter installations are always done correctly, having the back of the gutter installed behind and under the drip-edge flashing, this insulates all of the fascia board lumber and prevents mold growth and rot damage!
Unfortunately, around 40% of gutter installations in south Texas have been done incorrectly by some other gutter companies, with the back of the gutter OUTSIDE the drip-edge flashing, which creates a gap between the back of the gutter and the fascia board, then water seeps in through that gap, giving way to mold growth and rot damage.
A hanger is what attaches the gutter to the fascia board, instead of using cheap hangers than bend very easily
At foundation Care Gutter we use the strongest hanger in the industry
This provides an extremely strong gutter system that will stand the test of time, and the strongest of winds!
Seamless Gutters must always be installed having the hangers spaced out every 2 ft apart from one another:
this will ensure the Gutter is structurally strong and able to withstand the heaviest of rains!
Unfortunately some gutter companies out there install gutters using cheap hangers, while having them improperly spaced out 4 to 6 ft apart from one another, thus producing a weak gutter system that may present sagging and detachment issues in the future.
At the end of the installation, when doing the walkthrough inspection with you, we will show you pictures taken from above, of all of the gutter, so you can have the peace of mind all of the hangers were installed every 2 ft apart.
Some houses have canted fascia board, meaning the face of the fascia board is not plumb/straight, but instead it has an inclination facing downwards towards the ground. In this scenario, the 1x2 lumber (also known as fascia build out, or shadow board) is also canted, when gutter is installed on this type of fascia board, if the installers are not being careful, or they were not properly trained, when they drive the screw on the hanger - to attach the gutter - if the screw is positioned too low on the back of the gutter, the screw will go into the bottom part of the 1x2 shadow board and splinter it, this will be very much visible by just looking up behind the gutter, we on the other hand give you a guarantee none of the shadow board would get splintered, as we make sure every single hanger is going right through the center of shadow board.
A common complain from homeowners is that their downspouts, after some years, they became wobbly or loose, this is because the downspout is secured to the wall by screwing a strap onto the wall, said strap then wraps around the downspout, but if the screw utilized to secure that strap isn't the correct one, then this happens.
At Foundation Care Gutter, we first put in an anchor into the wall, and then use a screw of the TAPCON brand, specially engineered for cement, concrete, mortar, brick or stone applications, ensuring a strong attachment point that will last forever!
